Thank you from the bottom of my heart, all you readers and commenters, for making it possible. I'm also pleased to note that
we have hewed rather closely to our original intentions, although I no longer am a bigoted anti-postmodernism, and my concerns have shifted more to mysticism than to magick, more to "transpersonal psychology" than "folk parapsychology".
Open thread, if anyone wants to mouth off in the comments.
whats your thoughts on the cause of the lack of an american awareness of the recursive interiority of the self and the unconscious?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say it's an "American" thing, I think it's a Cartesian dualism / Western rationalism + pseudo-rationalistic religion thing. It's inherent to modern capitalism, it started in Western Europe and now it's globally pervasive. It might seem strongest in America because that's the "heart of the beast" at this point in time.
ReplyDeleteThose "Occupy Wall Street" people are interesting, though.
